Albane Sharrard graduated from the French Culinary Institute (now the International Culinary Institute). With a Pastry Arts diploma in hand, she went on to work for Dominique Ansel (Restaurant Daniel), the Alain Ducasse team (Benoit Restaurant), Jacques Torres Chocolates and Bread Alone. She founded Crosstown Sweets shortly after moving to the Hudson Valley in the spring of 2011. The local farms and markets reminded her of the summers she spent visiting her grandparents' home in the South of France. She was inspired to create jams in the tradition of her grandmother's best recipes using fruit from local Hudson Valley farms.
Her business Crosstown Sweets is the recipient of a 2014 Good Food Award.
