Having toasted flour stored in the kitchen is easy. Make a big batch and keep it in your freezer to preserve it and use at anytime. Here's how you do it:
- Place the flour on a sheet pan in a 325F oven for 20 minutes.
- Mix the flour and rotate once, return to the oven for another 10 minutes.
- Once cooled, place in a sealed container and in the freezer.
- When ready to use, pull out the desired amount 15 minutes ahead of time.
A crumble is a great way to use toasted flour! We made one a few weeks ago, check out the recipe here.
