Nothing says Happy Valentine's Day like a homemade gift! Coffee and chocolate are a perfect match, these will keep you on your feet!
For the recipe:
- 150 grams of heavy cream
- 225 grams of chocolate, cut into small chunks (bittersweet or 65% cocoa content)
- 28 grams of softened butter
- 1 Tbsp ground dark coffee beans
- 1 Tsp of dark rum
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1/2 vanilla bean
- pinch of salt
- cocoa powder (unsweetened)
Combine the heavy cream, cinnamon, vanilla and salt in a pot and bring to a boil.
Turn the heat off and let steep for 30 minutes.
In the meantime, cut the chocolate into small chunks and place in a bowl.
Strain the heavy cream, then bring it back to a boil.
Pour the infused cream over the chocolate and wait for a minute before combining the two with a whisk. Whisk in the softened butter, then the coffee and the rum.
Place in the freezer to set. With a melon baller, scoop out the truffles and roll them between your hands to round them out. Roll them in cocoa powder and they're done! Keep them hidden in a cool place.
