Sesame Balls

Continuing our theme of gifting and hosting this month, here's a unique treat that you can easily gift or serve at a party. Sesame is one of our favorite seeds out there, we are known to replace all kinds of nut-based recipes with sesame. These cookies are not only festive but unique and delicious!

For the recipe:

  • 225 grams salted butter
  • 60 grams confectionary sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla paste
  • 100 grams black sesame seed powder
  • 350 grams all purpose flour

In the bowl of your stand mixer fitted with paddle attachment, cream the butter, sugar, vanilla paste together until light and fluffy.
In the meantime, mix the sesame seed powder and the flour together with a whisk to get rid of any lumps.
Add the flour mixture to the creamed butter mixture in two additions, making sure the two mixtures are well incorporated before adding more.
Rest and cool the dough in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
Form dough into 1 inch balls and place them onto a sheet pan lined with parchment.
Bake at 375 F for 12 to 15 minutes or until they just start to color on the bottom.
Roll them in confectionary sugar as soon as they come out of the oven. Once cooled, roll them again in confectionary sugar.
