We love boozy desserts and banana flambée is a classic. We may actually have had too much fun with this one, Evi almost lost her hair to fire while shooting this photo! The scare was worth it though and forgotten once we tasted the delicious combo.
For the recipe:
Makes enough for 4 servings
- 4 bananas
- 3 Tbsp butter
- 4 Tbsp sugar
- 60 ml dark rum
- 1/4 vanilla bean, scraped
Melt the butter in a pan and when nice and hot, add the peeled bananas.
Add a tablespoon of sugar to each banana and also add the vanilla bean.
Turn the bananas over after 4 minutes and sauté on the other side.
When they are nice and golden brown, add the rum and flambe the bananas by lighting the alcohol with a match.
Serve warm on it's own or over our previous recipe of banana ice cream.
